Ordered delivery to our hotel room by the airport, and it arrived at the door (rather than the front desk) fast and hot, great service, friendly guy, worth a big tip. The pizza is great quality for West Michigan, flavorful crispy crust, not at all greasy, delicious toppings, sauce and cheese. Four stars instead of five because I didn't order extra cheese but hoo boy did it have a lot of cheese. Now I love my cheese but this was a hair much even for my taste. I can see how others could disagree with me, though, so I chalk this up to a matter of personal preference. Great pizza and even better service, will definitely order again next time we are in the area.

Am here on business and thought I would try some of the local pie. This place again came recommended by hotel staff and it was right down the road. For Michigan, this was some pretty darn good pizza. Californian's have NO clue on pizza! But the further east you go, the better it gets. I would definitely recommend this place to all that visit.

Was in the mood to try a new pizza place for lunch today and decided on Faro's. I opted for the lunch special - a 1 topping personal pizza with a drink. It only took about 10 minutes to make the pizza, which was a pan-style. Overall service was good. The pizza came out hot and fresh and was slightly bigger than I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise. There was a nice balance of sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The kicker was the crust - it had potential to be really good, in fact, the outer edge was very tasty - unfortunately the crust toward the middle of the pizza was slightly undercooked and still a bit doughy. I wasn't a big fan of the sauce, but the cheese and pepperoni were both decent. Overall, it's a step up from the cheap chains (Little Caesars and the like), but basically just an average pizza joint.

Awesome! I had the supreme last night, I've never liked mushrooms and peppers on my pizza before but now I think I'll have to keep having it this way. We ordered from the Holiday Inn, and they delivered it right to our door. The delivery guy was friendly and it was only a 40 minute wait for them to bring it in. It was fresh, hot, and super cheesy. Next time I'm in GR, I'll be ordering from Faro's again.

4 stars for the pizza, -2 for really bad service. The first time I had Faro's, we had delivery, and everything was great. The second time, we decided to eat at the restaurant. Wish we hadn't because it totally changed my mind about what was once a really enjoyable pizza experience. We went in on a slow night, the day before Thanksgiving. When we walked in, there were three young-ish girls working, and no one greeted us, told us to sit down, or where to order. So, we just sort of stood there until, slightly annoyed, we finally sat ourselves, no thanks to the employees. We sat there for a while, waiting for acknowledgement (maybe a waitress to take our order or someone to tell us to go up to the register. Remember--we were the only people in the whole restaurant, so it isn't that they so swamped they couldn't look over the counter and acknowledge us. After their making it clear they weren't coming to us, we went up to the counter and placed our order. The girl who took our order wasn't mean, but wasn't friendly either. Took a little bit for the pizza to get out, and the breadsticks came out after the pizza, which is a little annoying, but I can forgive. Despite the tasty pizza (the food was great, just like the first time we had it), we left with a really bad taste in our mouths. As I said earlier, I wish we had never dined in because it tarnished what was a good little spot I would have liked to support. But, after being ignored, I can't, in good conscious, return. There are too many other great restaurants--that have great customer service--who better deserve my patronage.

Very disappointed after deciding to try Faros after reading the yelp reviews. In GR for work, staying at a local hotel. Last night, The night before I leave I had a taste for pizza before heading back to Chicago. Ordered the deluxe. Bland, soggy crust, and just plain disappointing. They claim the sauce is so good, they even advertise that the sauce is all that on the pizza box but it ain't. I also ordered a garden salad with chicken. It was half way ok except they put canned mushrooms on it and way too many green peppers. Really!! What happened to "our food is fresh and homemade". Good thing is Im flying back to Chicago today where I can get some real pizza

3.4 miles away and they don't deliver. Google estimated it as a 10 minute drive. It's whatever. Just won't be attempting to order through them.

Oh That Sauce!!! That's what the box says, that's what they're kinda famous for. That's the butt of a lot of jokes for obvious reasons. This spot has been serving up awesome pies for a long time, and under quite a few different owners. Originally started by Faro Uccello a bazillion years ago, the recipes haven't changed much, and the sauce! Oh the sauce! Some of Faro's original recipes worth trying: Lasagna, any pies, breadsticks, Manicotti, and oh man... the Spice Sub! Do it! I just ordered a couple pies and am about to pick 'em up... and they're going to be GREAT! I ordered a 14" with pepperoni, ham, and mushroom and a 14" deluxe with a side of breadstix with cheese. Oh yeah! Now Mike and company are in charge and they're GREAT... awesome quality food, great consistency, and excellent service and delivery. FARO'S is top notch! Gotta go and pick up my pies!

Pizza is very average. The chicken wings were some of the worst I've ever had. Very fatty, with bland sauce that I'm sure came straight out of a generic package. When I ordered carry out: Me: "I'd like an order for carry out" Staff person: "is this for delivery or pick up?" Me: "I said carry out." Staff person: (annoyed tone) "delivery or pick up?" Me: "pick up" Apparently "carry out" is not allowed when placing an order for pick up. It wasn't terrible pizza, but I definitely won't be returning.

I've had it at least 5 times while working in town. Stick to the pizza. It is first class. If you like homemade New York - like pizza, this is your place.

This is a nice little pizza spot. They make their pizzas fast. I don't enjoy their takeout as much, it takes some time for the delivery and by then the pizza has lost it's freshness. But dining in is good.

Great pizza. The best part of their pizza is the sauce. Love how it has a sweetness to it. I've never called for delivery but have come in to order and would say that the wait time for the pizza is about 20 minutes. Not that bad. My only complaint is once we had some of their pizza and my father took a bite out of his pizza only to find that there was a piece of hair in it. We complained and they apologized and offered a refund. Other then that the pizza is great.

Ordered from here to have delivered at an area hotel. Pleasantly surprised. Delivery took a while but the wait was worth it. Had chicken wings and a medium pizza. Wings were great, moist, tender and good sauce. Pizza was on par with some of the better thin crusts in Chicago. Great sauce on the pizza.

this is the true Pizza Nazi place. If the guy answer the phone deems you are rude ( not his incompetence) " no pizza for you"!

WAY WAY WAY better than JT's. Really good pizza. Not the best in the world, but perhaps the best Grand Rapids has to offer. The sauce has a certain sweetness to it that makes the rest of the pizza really stand out. For pickup, they are SUPER fast, despite w/e wait time they tell you on the phone. Service is only OK- teenagers working there are not very friendly

Good pizza, good prices. Small place for eating in, but seems like most of their business is the carryout kind (or it was when we were there due to crazy bad road construction). Would for sure eat there again if I ended up in Grand Rapids.

Delicious pizza! Crispy crust, 100% mozzarella cheese! Simple and delicious :) Bonus: they delivered right to our hotel room at the Fairfield Inn.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
